1955... Jerry Russo, in Fred “Meatball” Orlando’s #6, beat Bill Stofer and Pat Tribodeau on the quarter mile Manchester (NH) Motordome.

September 26th

1976...Armond Holley and owner Rollie Lindblad put an international tag on their championship effort with a victory at the third mile Sanair International Speedway in St-Pie, Quebec. Johnny Evans (Yuris 1) was second and Dave Humphrey 47 third

September 27th

1987...Lee Smith (Boissoneau 27) was the winner at Hudson while Bobby Seymour (Seymour 4) stayed in the championship race, which he eventually won, with a strong second. Hank Rogers (Scrivani 21) was third.

September 28th

1973...Dave Humphrey notched career win No. 51 in the McCarthy 47 at Stafford. Bobby White (White 63), Billy Hughes (Boyd 2, Johnny Mann (Nogeria 12) and Ted Luce (Czyzewski 2) were second through fifth.  At that point, Bill Eldridge, a winner earlier that season, ranked second on the win list with 33.

September 29th

1974...Twelfth at the mandatory halfway stop, Johnny Mann (Cali 1) immediately charged to second when the race resumed and went on the win the 100 lap Classic at Thompson when Johnny Coy fell out. Dave Humphrey, who set fast time (21.428 in the McCarthy 47) was second and Billy Hughes (Sheehan 5) third.

September 30th

1995...Drew Fornoro (Angelillo 45) raced to a non-stop 25 lap win at Star with Joey Coy (Kibbe 94), Joey Payne (Miller 3), Jeff Horn (Hayes 47) and Russ Stoehr (Beane 26) following.

October 1st

1967...Lou Fray (McCarthy 47) won on Fair Day on the new asphalt at Stafford Speedway. George Monson (Downing 3) and Johnny Kay (Roberts 68) were second and third. It was Fray’s second win at Stafford, winning of Aug. 5 as well. After many years as a half-mile dirt, Stafford was paved in the spring of 1967.  Johnny Coy owns the first-ever win on the Stafford asphalt, that coming on July 11.
