July 25th
​

2009...Winner Adam Cantor (Cantor 7ny) and Russ Stoehr (Angelillo 45) both passed an out-of-fuel Nokie Fornoro (Jarret 4) down the backstretch on the last lap at Waterford. Nokie coasted in for third. The leader since lap seven, Fornoro said it was the first time he ran out of gas while leading on the last lap.

July 26th

1969...Magic names! Dave Humphrey (Bob Pascale 1) was the winner at Oxford Plains followed by Johnny Kay (Miller 3), Ronnie Evans (Paul Young 7-11) and Walter Gale (Smokey Secondo 32).

July 27th

​1978...Johnny Coy, in the Scrivani #21 VW-powered upright wrenched by Mike Scrivani Jr., passed teammate Geoff Bodine, in the Scrivani #20 SESCO-powered Badger in the care of Hop Harrington, on the last lap to win at Stafford. Coy refused to settle for second. “Little Mike,” who still delights in telling the story, wound up the owner champion while third-place finisher Dave Humphrey was the driver champion.

July 28th

2001...Jeff Horn, driving Sue Shaw’s 107s, started eighth, had the lead by lap two and wound up with a convincing win in the Boston Louie Memorial at Seekonk. Drew Fornoro (Campanale 54), Mark Buonomo (Buonomo 76), Kevin Weeks (Weeks 4) and Chuck Welling (Johnson 69) were second through fifth.

July 29th

1966...One of NEMA’s all-time favorites, Ray “Puddyhead” Roberts drove the famed Golden Arrow to victory in a 50-lapper at Riverside Park. Lou Fray (Mordenti), Pete Thurston (88) and Chet Conklin (68) followed. Roberts, a NEMA official as well as competitor for many years, had eight career wins, three in the Golden Arrow.

July 30th

1972...The night after crashing the McCarthy #47 Badger in a 100 lapper at Seekonk (won by Jerry Wall), Dave Humphrey jumped into the Miller Edmunds/SESCO #3 and won at Star Speedway. Johnny Mann and Ray Roberts followed. Mann, en route to the championship, was second behind Wall as well.
