1998...Staying in low groove, Keith Botelho (Campanale 54) was the winner in NEMA’s last visit to the now gone Riverside Park. Mike Seymour (Tapply 8), Drew Fornoro (Angelillo 45), Ed Breault (Breault 44) and Russ Stoehr (Stoehr 26b) were second through fifth. Starting with Dutch Schaefer’s win in 1966, NEMA visited “The Park” 15 times. This was the third win for Bothelo in '98, which was enough to earn a spot on the podium for the championship, despite a season ending crash at Oswego a week later. |

2002...16-year old Bobby Santos III (Scrivani 9) took the lead from Tim Bertrand (Bertrand 47) in turns three and four with 13 laps left and went on to win the 29-lap Boston Louie Memorial at Waterford. It was the first “big win” for Santos who has gone on to impress in a variety of equipment on the national level. Bertrand held on for second at Waterford with Randy Cabral (Cabral 35) third. Bertrand and Cabral would soon form one of NEMA’s greatest owner/driver combos. |

2012...Starting on the pole, long-time NEMA favorite Jim Miller (Miller 3m) left no doubt about it – he turned a 16.94 lap – winning a 25-lapper at Oswego. It was the fourth career win for Miller, coming 11 years and seven days after win number four at Oxford Plains. Miller, whose first win came at Waterford in 1999, finished in front of Russ Stoehr (Dumo’s Desire 45), Jeff Abold (Seymour 29), Seth Carlson (Feigel 71) and Randy Cabral (Bertrand 47) at Oswego. |

1979...Bobby White, in his own #63, beat Geoff Bodine (Scrivani 20) at Thompson. Dave Humphrey (McCarthy 47), Johnny Coy (Brenn 57) and Billy Mann (Rogers 61) were third through fifth. It was the second time Bodine, in the Hop Harrington wrenched Badger, finished second in NEMA competition that year, both times to an upright. He was in the midst of extraordinary success in the modifieds. |
