April 11th
1971...After several laps of intense competition, Johnny Coy edged Jim Kirk, both in Ken Brenn cars, at the season opener at Thompson Speedway. Sonny Sanders (Pascale Offy) was third in the ARDC-dominated 25 lapper. Johnny Mann (Stropoli 66) was fourth. Johnny went on to win his third ARDC Championship this same year, and his fourth in 1972. |

April 13th
2014...Avery Stoehr, in the family 15a, survived a late restart challenge from Ian Cumens (Seymour 29) to win his first NEMA feature in the season opener at Waterford. Cumens held on for second with John Zych Jr. (Zych 9), Seth Carlson (Feigel 71) and Todd Bertrand (Bertrand Motorsports 74) following. The win put Avery and Russ Stoehr on the top of NEMA’s father- son/daughter win list. |

April 14th
2002...Pete Pernesiglio (Pernesiglio 50) beat back two restart challenges from Russ Stoehr (Angelillo 45) to score a popular victory at Waterford. Randy Cabral (Cabral 35) was third, Drew Fornoro (Campanale 54) fourth and Ryan Dolan (Dolan 15) fifth. |

April 16th
2000...Rudy Boetticher (Boetticher 46) grabbed his only NEMA feature win, a 25-lap decision over Barry Kittredge (Kittredge 8) and Paul Lawless (Lawless 6) in the season opener at Waterford. |
